John Pearson Consulting (JPC) has undertaken an innovative approach to delivering training for early childhood educators who are in remote locations across the NT with the use of iPad minis to assist participants to undertake their studies in Certificate III in Children’s Services.

Participants of the Children’s Services program are provided with their own customised iPad minis designed to supplement their learning in between visits from their lecturer who travel to their community once a month.

The iPad learning resource provides participants with culturally appropriate and interactive learning materials designed to develop their knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices. Participants also use the iPads to take photos and videos of their interactions with children within their centres which provides the lecturers with evidence of their learning.

As an added incentive, participants receive their own iPad mini at the completion of their studies which enables them to retain their learning content as a permanent resource into the future.
